This race kicks off Eldon's Independence Day celebration.

Firecracker Mile: July 4, 2008 8:00 a.m.-
The race begins at the state buildings on Wildwood and then turns east on Edgewood. This is a fast downhill mile, which is free to all who show up.

Kyle Billington Run 5K: July 19, 2008 8:00 a.m.-
The club’s plan is to have this be a low fee race, with tee-shirts and medals. The donations and proceeds will benefit the JC Booster Club. The course is the same as last year’s Summer Classic, up Edgewood Drive and return down the Greenway.

5K Foot Pursuit: September 6, 2008 8:00 a.m.-
The Jefferson City Fraternal Order of Police is sponsoring its first annual walk/run on a course through downtown Jefferson City. Proceeds will benefit the Jefferson City Police Officers Association, which supports children's charities and officer memorials.

Ozark Ham & Turkey Festival Healthy 5K: September 20, 2008 7:30 a.m.-
This race is sponsored by various California Health providers. It is run on a certified course through a residential area of California. The walk starts at 7:30 a.m. and the run starts at 7:45.
Columbia Half Marathon Challenge: October 5, 2008 8:00 a.m.-

Missouri Endangered Species Run/Walk: October 11, 2008 9:00 a.m.-
The 5K run and the 10K run both start and finish near the North Jefferson Pavilion. The 5K is half on pavement and half on the Katy trail. The 10K adds its extra distance on the trail. There is also a 5K walk that goesdown to the river and back thereby avoiding the danger of runners trying to weave their way through the walkers late in the race. NOTE: Currently this race is only tentatively scheduled.

Dollars for Scholars 5K: November 9, 2008 2:00 p.m.-
Runners and walkers will be meeting for this race at Adkins Stadium. The course follows Stadium to Southwest, with a right turn onto Southwest followed immediately with another right turn onto Swifts Highway. At the end of Swifts Highway turn right onto Jefferson. At the corner of Jefferson and Stadium the course turns left onto Stadium and proceeds back to the track with the finish line on the track at the 50 yard line.
Thanksgiving Day Pie Run: November 27, 2008 8:30 a.m.-
This is a club sponsored 5K/10K race. It starts at the pavilion in North Jefferson City and follows the Endangered Species 5K course (10K is two laps). The theme of this race is to exercise before the big Thanksgiving Day meal and possibly win a pie for your effort. Pies are awarded to the top finishers and many
more are given out as door prizes.
